Moraine Lake - A beautiful glacial lake in the Vallery of the Ten Peaks

Moraine Lake is easily reached along the same road as Lake Louise. There's a turnoff that travels several switchbacks up the mountain to the lake, and takes about 20 minutes.

Once you get to Moraine Lake, you'll find a small lodge, a canoe rental stations, and several trails that let you walk in the woods around the lake. One trail takes you up a hill overlooking Moraine Lake and gives you spectacular views. In some of the rocks you can still see the fossilized remains of marine life from hundreds of millions of years ago!

It's well worth a side trip from Lake Louise to check out Moraine Lake. It's less touristy and in many peoples opinion, a better view than Lake Louise. Have a look at Moraine Lake and make your own decision!
